Under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), the Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) provides monthly financial support to persons with severe disabilities.
Core Eligibility Criteria
- Degree of Disability: Minimum 80% severe or multiple disability, verified by a medical board certificate.
- Age limits: Available for individuals aged between 18 and 79. At 80, the central share increases from ₹300 to ₹500/month.
- State Top-Up: In most states, the total pension is significantly larger due to state contributions (e.g. Haryana adds ₹2,700, bringing the total to ₹3,000/month).
