Open the NSP Portal
Open your browser and navigate to the official portal at scholarships.gov.in.

Start One-Time Registration (OTR)
Under the Students section on the homepage, click on the "Apply For One Time Registration (OTR)" link. This will open the OTR registration page.

Download the OTR App for Biometrics
Type your active mobile number and get the verification OTP. To finish OTR, download the official NSP OTR App from the Google Play Store on your mobile device. Enter your details and perform biometric facial scanning. This generates your permanent OTR number.

Log In to the Scholarship Application

- Return to the main page at scholarships.gov.in and click Apply For Scholarship.
- Log in using your generated OTR number and password.
- Click on the Application Form link in the student dashboard area.

Fill Application Form and Select Scheme
Type your demographic details, family income, domicile, and academic records. The portal will automatically display the schemes you qualify for. Select the "PM-USP Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS)" from the eligible list.

Upload Documents and Submit
Upload scanned PDF/JPEG copies of your income certificate, domicile certificate, Class 12 marksheet, fee receipt, and bonafide student certificate. Double-check all inputs and click "Final Submit". Save the generated application copy for tracking.
Check Status & Grievances
You can track your verification status (Institute, District, and State level) in your portal dashboard under the 'Check Status' option. If your application is rejected or marked as defective, you will receive an alert. You can fix errors or register grievances online at nsp.gov.in/grievanceregistration.
