Uttarakhand Welfare System Rules
The Government of Uttarakhand, through its Departments of Social Welfare, Women Empowerment and Child Development, and Cooperatives, administers various programs to aid vulnerable groups and support agricultural development across hill and plain districts.
Eligibility & Benefits Standards
- Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana: Standard benefit is ₹3,000/month. The scheme applies to children orphaned between March 2020 and May 2023. Beneficiary gets horizontal reservation of 5% in State Government posts.
- Social Security Pensions: Governed by the Uttarakhand Social Welfare Department. Pays ₹1,500/month for Old Age (60+), Widow (18+), and Disability (40%+ disability). Requires monthly income to be less than or equal to ₹4,000, which is completely waived if a BPL card is held.
- Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana: A comprehensive kit consisting of items for neonatal hygiene and maternal nutrition valued at ~₹3,500. Valid for the first 2 girl children.
- Deendayal Sahkarita Kisan Kalyan Yojana: Promotes interest-free borrowing for crop cultivation, horticulture, animal husbandry, and aquaculture. Maximum individual loan limit is ₹3,00,000, and collective group loan limit is ₹5,00,000.
