How is the JEE Main rank calculated from the percentile score?

Your NTA percentile indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below you in that session. The formula to estimate your All India Rank (AIR) is: AIR = Math.round((1 - percentile / 100) * Total Appeared Candidates). For Session 1, NTA reported 1,324,000 appeared candidates, and for Session 2, 1,034,000 unique candidates.

Which session matters more for the final JEE Main rank?

NTA merges the scores of both sessions using the best of the overall percentiles obtained in Session 1 and Session 2. Whichever percentile is higher will be used to calculate your final common rank list (CRL) and category ranks. This ensures full compliance with the latest regulations, allowing you to estimate values correctly and avoid common filing errors.

What rank or percentile is needed for CSE at NIT Trichy?

For NIT Trichy Computer Science Engineering (CSE), General category candidates usually need an All India Rank (AIR) under 1,500 for the Other State quota, which corresponds to a percentile of 99.9+. What is CSAB counselling and how is it different from JoSAA?
